For the first time ever, this year the Camden Garden Club has invited the community to join in sponsoring downtown lampposts for the upcoming 2023 season. The Club encouraged local businesses and members of the community be a part of this historic effort and the results in just three weeks have been amazing!
Sponsors may select a specific lamppost from those that are still available on a first-come-first-served basis, and have the option of being thanked with their name and business logo on a tag on the lamppost or honoring someone by naming them on the tag. Lamppost sponsorships are valid for one year with the sponsorship cycle ending in February when the wreaths are taken down. The current sponsorship cycle is Spring 2023 – February 2024.
The Club’s inaugural lamppost sponsorship program is designed to cover the costs of Camden’s iconic lamppost decorations including the hanging baskets and wreaths, which have been summer and winter fixtures of the town since 1925 and 1948, respectively.
These adornments have helped make Camden “The Jewel of the Maine Coast” and have arguably contributed to Travel + Leisure magazine’s designation of Camden as one of the “20 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the United States” (Source: Travel + Leisure, January 29, 2023).
Sponsorships are processed as donations and are fully tax deductible. $250 covers all of the costs associated with the lamppost’s summer flower baskets and winter holiday wreaths. We encourage anyone interested in participating in this opportunity to contact us immediately to reserve your post!
