OLD SOULS FARM TOUR

The afternoon will conclude with a tour of David Kibbe’s Old Souls Farm in Camden.

David focuses on regenerative practices, seasonal crops, and community connection in the historic Chestnut Street neighborhood's small-scale, ecologically-minded growing space of .74 acres.

His work integrates hands-on cultivation with soil health, native plantings, biodiversity, and climate resilience, aiming to provide nourishing food while cultivating a deeper relationship with the land. He grows vegetables and native flowering perennials, tends honey bees and a small flock of chickens, and manages a small apple, peach, and pear tree orchard.

David’s permacultural practices include bioswales, hugelkultur, meadows, and active composting.

About the Artist: David Miller

Though I have painted and sketched all of my life, my primary career was teaching Western Civilization at the International schools in Europe and Asia. In each country, I painted in my spare time and staged gallery shows along the way.

My works were inspired by the countryside of England, France, Italy and Austria. I captured the city squares of Europe, where the marketplaces were tucked into the fabric of the architecture. The unique light and shadow offered wonderful subjects. A simple drive in the countryside bestowed other opportunities in nature.

Now that my wife and I have retired, I have refocused my subject matter to rural New England and the nautical life on the Penobscot Bay and the Mid-Coast of Maine. Both manmade and natural settings catch my eye. The four seasons offer a completely different view of the same subjects, considering all that transpires between the time of the year; color, foliage, temperature and the intensity of light.

My body of work includes still life paintings, cityscapes, landscapes, nautical subjects, and many unique compositions. Many paintings are Giclee works that are available for purchase along with originals. The quality of the prints is archival, and they are offered in a signed limited edition.
