Camden Garden Club Elects New Officers

June 1, 2020 Camden Garden Club
Camden Garden Club Officers 2020 - Debra Stokes, Lucy Ebbert, Mary Winchell, Sherry James, Sherry Cobb.jpg

Due to prevailing restrictions, Camden Garden Club’s May  28 meeting was held via Zoom.  Top of the agenda was the presentation of a new slate of officers who will serve from June 1, 2020 until May 31, 2022.  The nominees were: Debra Stokes, President; Lucy Ebbert, Vice President; Mary Winchell, Treasurer; Sherry James, Assistant Treasurer; and Sherry Cobb who will continue as Recording Secretary following a one year fill-in term.  A roll call vote was taken and the slate was elected unanimously.

Special recognition was expressed for departing board members Mary Ireland and Ann Vanosdol, both of whom have spent 8 years serving in numerous capacities.  Outgoing Co-Presidents Karen Cease and Ceil King received a round of applause and the group’s heartfelt gratitude.

Despite social distancing constraints, Camden Garden Club has been able to continue much of its community service including a major cleanup effort at the Village Green just prior to Memorial Day.  The baskets of vibrant red geraniums are going up around town, the traffic islands will soon be brimming with color and a small group of members recently tidied up the Public Landing.  The club has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Garden & Home Tour, but is hoping to initiate a number of smaller fundraising events over the coming months.  For more information about the club and its activities visit the club’s website www.camdengardenclub.org.  or email them at camdengardenclub100@gmail.com.
