2026 Garden Tour
Huge Success!
THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, visitors, and sponsors for an AMAZING Tour! It was a beautiful day enjoyed by all and we could not have done it without our Club members and our Camden community.
The weather, which was beautiful until it wasn’t! A brief sprinkle in the morning forced Tour HQ indoors, and the violent afternoon storm wreaked havoc all over Camden and led to the early closure of one of our gardens. But everyone seemed to enjoy the day and we got many, many compliments for a well-run tour of fabulous gardens!
Over 600 Tickets sold and over $24,000. raised! Hopefully, we will know in time how many actually attended.
But the real story were the beautiful gardens and the gardening expertise and stories behind them.
Special thanks to the Garden Tour Committee including Lynne Meagher, Susan Reider, Mary Miller, Christina Verrastro, Lucy Ebbert, Karen Cease and Debra Stokes.
The six privately owned gardens in Camden and Rockport represented a diverse offering of landscaping, hardscaping and cultivation in shade, sun, woods and ocean-front locations. Master Gardeners answered questions in each garden, and some owners were present to discuss their visions and work process.
The day also included two demonstrations. , Gabrielle Jansen of Firebird Farm explained how to create three-dimensional art from dried flowers. Master Gardener Linda Redman demonstrated how to create “twiggy things” including arbors, gates, and other items from branches and other material commonly found in many Maine back yards.
Plein air artist Cassie Sano of Augusta, Maine painted at one of the properties throughout the day, capturing the spirit of the garden and the sky. Her painting, as well as the material produced by Ms. Jansen and Ms. Redman, were raffled off to tour participants. All raffle proceeds benefited the Camden Garden Club’s Scholarship Fund.
